DFA Honors Ghanaian for Loyal Service
MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) honored a Ghanaian for his loyal service as Philippine Honorary Consul in Ghana.
Alex Quarmyne has been serving as the Philippine Honorary Consul in Accra for 15 years.
He was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation signed by DFA Secretary Albert del Rosario and presented by Philippine Ambassador to Nigeria Alex Lamadrid.
Lamadrid also announced the promotion of Consul Quarmyne to the rank of Honorary Consul General.
For his part, Quarmyne thanked the DFA for the honor and also expressed his gratitude to his Filipina spouse Wilna, and to the officers and members of the Filipino community organization in Ghana, the Pakikipag-isa ng mga Pilipino sa Ghana (PILSAG), whose assistance enabled him to perform his functions as honorary consul.
