DFA Implements Temporary Express Passport Processing Scheme for OFWs
Overseas Filipino workers may benefit from a temporary express passport processing scheme at the Department of Foreign Affairs’ regional consular offices.
The DFA, in a media statement, said the provisional express processing scheme started on Nov. 24 at all DFA regional consular offices.
But the DFA said the 10-working day express processing and 20-working day regular processing for passport applications will resume once the newly-procured passport printing machines are tested and installed.
It said OFWs who want to avail of express processing must present aj ob Order confirmed/certified by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration or one approved and certified by a Labor Attaché and authenticated/acknowledged by a consular officer at a Philippine embassy or consulate-general
Provisional express processing for OFWs may cost P1,200 and take 15 working days. The provisional normal processing costs P950 and takes 30 working days.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila, the passport processing dates at DFA Aseana and DFA satellite offices remain at express processing (seven working days) costs P1,200 while regular processing (15 working days) costs P950.
