MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice on Thursday dismissed the criminal cases filed by American Lane Michael White against airport police and security personnel who allegedly planted a bullet in the travel bag of the foreign missionary.

The resolution issued by Assistant Prosecutor Honey Rose Delgado and approved by Prosecutor General Claro A. Arellano found no probable cause to file a case in court for planting of evidence, a violation of Article V, Section 38 of the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act,” against Office of Transportation Security personnel Maria Elma Cena and Marvin Garcia; and for robbery/extortion, violating the rights of an arrested individual, and violating the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act against Chief Inspector Adriano Junio, Senior Police Office 4 Ramon Bernardo, SPO2s Rolando Clarin and Romy Navarro.

White was apprehended at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on September 17 last year as he was about to fly to Palawan with his stepmother Eolisa Zoleta after a .22 caliber bullet was found in his bag.
