2015-0213 Expatriate Family Visas now Online

The Interior Ministry has launched a new service that would allow expatriate workers to process visas online for their wives and minor children.

Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Naif, second deputy premier and minister of interior, launched the service with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Ahmed Salem, and Assistant Interior Minister for Administrative and Financial Affairs Abdullah Al-Hammad, at his office in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Following the launch, Salman Al-Shohiwain, director general of expatriate affairs, said the service would help reduce paperwork and save people time because there is no need to visit the ministry’s offices.

A ministry source said expats and citizens wanting to use the service should register online at www.moi.gov.sa. The instructions are in Arabic and English.

In a related development, the seventh meeting of the committee dealing with electronic transactions was held under the chairmanship of Prince Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Mashari, assistant minister of interior for technology.

During the meeting, the members reviewed the performance of various committees and discussed ways to speed up e-transactions.

Prince Bandar commended various departments for helping the ministry make the transition to online services.
