Hail Labor Official Commended for Helping Filipino Workers

POLO Labor Attache Rustico SM De la Fuente (POLO-Riyadh) has commended director general of the Ministry of Labor in Hail, Saleh Al-Ahmari, for his support to the Filipino community in the region.

“We would like to extend our appreciation to Director General Al-Ahmari for his assistance in resolving issues related to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the region,” he said.

The labor attaché also expressed his hope that the Philippine Labor Office in Riyadh (POLO) and the OFWs in Hail could always count on Ahmari, “who has taken great interest in the concerns of OFWs and made efforts to resolve their issues.”

Ameera Luna Domingo, president of an OFW group, pointed to the director general’s helping six Filipino nurses obtain their dues before their final exit from the Kingdom. She said that the nurses had been working at a polyclinic for a year but had not been issued iqamas.

The nurses were also unhappy with their salaries which they said were not commensurate with their education and work experience.

Domingo referred to another case of a Filipino nurse who worked at the same polyclinic for ten years without a single vacation. She added that with the help of Ahmari, they collected a total sum of SR75,000 to help this nurse.
