Man’s Plot to Kill Pinay Wife in US Bared Through Text

An American man’s alleged plot to kill his Filipina wife and daughter was uncovered after he mistakenly sent his request to his former boss instead of the hitman, reports said.

A report on KIRO 7, citing documents obtained  from Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, said suspect Jeff Lytle, of Monroe, Washington, asked a man named “Shayne” to kill his wife for insurance money.

A report on Daily Mail identified the wife as Rhoda Mee Funtanilla Lytle.

According to KIRO 7, Jeff’s text read as: “Hey Shayne hows it going. You remember you said that you would help me kill my wife. I’m going to take you up on that offer.”

Shayne was reportedly told that Jeff, who has since been arrested by the police, would split his wife’s life insurance of $1 million with him if the mission was accomplished.

If Shayne wanted a bonus, Jeff reportedly said, he could kill Rhoda’s four-year-old daughter to claim her life insurance worth $500,000.

Lytle accidentally sent the messages to his former employer, who immediately called the police. He was arrested at his home on February 8 for two counts of criminal solicitation for murder in the first degree and domestic violence. Snohomish County’s judge set his bail at $1 million.

German Ellano, Jeff’s roommate, told KIRO 7 that he thinks there could be a misunderstanding regarding Jeff’s attempt to put a hit on his wife and daughter. He said he believes Jeff is “not going to do something like that.”

Court documents state that Jeff had told investigators that he wrote the texts to “vent” and that he had no intentions to send it to anyone. He added that his four-year-old daughter may have sent the texts.

Jeff had reportedly filed for bankruptcy in 2003. Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
