OFW in Kuwait Rescued after Employer Beats her for Insisting on Going on Vacation

A Filipina domestic helper in Kuwait was allegedly beaten by her employer after she insisted on her leave, GMA News TV’s “Balitanghali” reported on Saturday.

Dahlia Dimalaluan said her employer neglected a previous agreement they had regarding the date of her vacation to the Philippines.

When Dimalaluan tried to insist on going on vacation, her employer allegedly whipped her head, back, and sides with a belt and threatened to kill her.

She was able to escape and was taken to the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, which will assist her in filing charges against her employer.

Dimalaluan will undergo counseling while the embassy prepares her papers for repatriation.

“Okay na po ako, nandito na po ako sa pangangalaga ng embassy. ‘Di na ‘ko maapi. Uuwi po ako. Uuwi ako ng ligtas,” Dimalaluan said.
