MANILA — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is following up the investigation into the rape of Filipina overseas worker Irma Edloy who died of her injuries last week in Saudi Arabia.

DFA spokesman Charles Jose said the DFA’s Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (OUMWA) would keep tabs of the investigation by the Saudi police.

Edloy died of injuries she sustained from the sexual assault while confined at the King Salman hospital in Saudi Arabia.

The Philippines, through the DFA, would help in the pursuit of justice, Jose said.

“Definitely, we will help with the filing of appropriate charges and the repatriation of her remains,” said Jose.  SFM
