Pinay Nabbed for Allegedly Killing Employer in Lebanon

LEBANON – A Filipina household service worker has been arrested in Lebanon for allegedly killing her female employer.

Suspect “Geraldine” supposedly used a glass vase and a dumbbell to kill her employer Nathalie Farhat during an argument inside their apartment in the quiet residential area of Ain Najem.

Madonna Younes, a neighbor on the same floor, said somebody told her that a crime had just happened on their building.

“I came back directly home. I entered and I saw the blood on the floor and the body was on the floor,” Younes said.

Geraldine even managed to call her male employer who was then taking his two-year old child to a kindergarten and informed him about the crime she just committed.

The victim’s six year old child was at the apartment during the incident. Her father found her inside the toilet.

“She was in the toilet. Maybe she was afraid,” Younes said. The child only opened the toilet when she heard her father’s voice.

Neighbors described the Pinay as kind and respectful. She has been working for the family for five years now and went on vacation to the Philippines twice.

“Nakikita ko lang siya tuwing umaga, naghahatid ng mga bata. Naghahatid din ako ng bata,” said another Filipina working on the first floor.

Younes said Geraldine has keys to the house and owns a cellphone. She meanwhile described the victim as “a nice woman.”

“They were a happy family. They live a good life. She works in a bank. She’s a beautiful woman. She’s a nice woman and also the man, he’s very nice,” Younes said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Embassy declined to comment on the case but gave the assurance that it will provide what Geraldine needs.
