24 Years Between Desert Storm and Decisive Storm Operations

RIYADH – Two strong military operations started from Saudi territories to protect Saudi and Gulf lands. They are Desert Storm and Decisive Storm which are separated by 24 years. The first was commanded by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd (May Allah have mercy on his soul) and the current one was announced by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman (May Allah protect him).

Desert Storm was in 1991 during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. The Kingdom under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd mobilized Arab and international forces on Saudi territories to deter that invasion.

The Saudi and Arab military forces achieved successes in the war with support from the international forces. They were able to evict the invader and restore Kuwait to its people.

What distinguishes the Decisive Storm Operation that is being commanded by King Salman is that they are Gulf forces fully under Saudi command and with purely Arab support to deter the evil ambitions of the terrorist Houthis supported by Iran.

The Saudi military forces have qualified and professional personnel in the military field supported with the best and most sophisticated military equipment in the world. This has put them on top last year among the countries of the world in the import of weapons. The Saudi forces are developing and updating their military programs. They have made big strides in technological advancement in weapons. Hence necessitating developing the skills of the Saudi armed forces.

It does not suffice the Saudi military forces to hold joint internal and external exercises only but all their sectors hold internal exercises for different sectors so as to raise their personnel’s combat and training capabilities.
