4 Held for Stealing Dh2M from Abu Dhabi House
ABU DHABI: Police have arrested four Filipinas, including three maids, who are accused of stealing more than Dh2 million from an Abu Dhabi house where two of the maids worked, according to a media report.
The theft took place while the family was travelling outside the country, reported Emirates 24/7.
Colonel Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Acting Director, Abu Dhabi Police, reportedly said one of the maids – the main suspect – planned the theft, using two maids who worked in the same house.
A fourth helped from outside the home, the report said.
The crime was discovered after the family returned from their travel and found Dh2.6 million missing. They informed the Khalidiya police station, it was pointed out.
Colonel Al Muhairi called on residents, homeowners and families to protect money and possessions, especially when traveling, reported the Dubai-based news portal.
