60 Pinoys Evacuated from Libya
MANILA – A total of 60 Filipino were successfully evacuated from Libya in the span of two days, the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli reported.
On June 3, the embassy team evacuated 25 Filipinos based in Benghazi and Eastern Libya. The following day, 35 Pinoys from Western and central Libya were evacuated.
“Twenty seven of these repatriates are arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport today at 4:00 p.m. on board QR932, while 33 others are scheduled to arrive in Manila this Sunday, June 07, via QR932 at 4:00 p.m.,” the embassy said.
The latest arrivals will bring the total number of Filipino repatriates from Libya to 5,058.
The embassy team estimates that there are still 3,496 Filipinos in Libya.
Remaining Filipinos in Libya are urged to contact the embassy team and register for repatriation.
“The embassy team continues to actively reach out to the Filipino community in Libya, advising them to avail of the mandatory repatriation program, and informing them of the repatriation schedules,” the embassy said.
