ASEAN Leaders Sign Agreement vs. Human Trafficking

Leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations on Saturday signed an agreement on taking steps to crack down on human trafficking in Southeast Asia during a summit in Kuala Lumpur.
A report posted on the ASEAN website said that the agreement expressed an “urgent need for a comprehensive regional approach to prevent and to combat trafficking in persons, particularly women and children.”
After the signing ceremony, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, the rotating chairman for 2015, was handed the memorandum by ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh, GMA News reported.
