Comelec Releases Official List of Candidates

MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday released the certified list of candidates for president, vice, president, senator and party-list system for the upcoming May 9 polls.
Based on a memorandum from Comelec Law Department Director Maria Norina Tangaro-Casingal dated Feb. 15, 2016, the candidates for president are;
- Jejomar Binay (United Nationalist Alliance)
- Miriam Defensor-Santiago (People’s Reform Party)
- Rodrigo Duterte (Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Laban)
- Grace Poe (independent)
- Manuel Roxas (Liberal Party).
Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista said the late OFW Family Club Rep. Roy Señeres was included in the ballots because the Omnibus Election COde provides that a candidate, in case of death, can be substituted until mid-day of election day.
The candidates for vice-president are:
