The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh has warned overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Saudi Arabia from using a passport search system published by another website.
In a statement, the embassy said OFWToday.com has embedded the government’s “Passports for Release” search system “without any authority coming from the Embassy or Philippine government authorities.”
It said OFWToday.com also provided erroneous and misleading information. It claimed that the embassy’s number was 01-482-3818, which is registered under a private individual, instead of 01-482-3816.
“The Filipino community is reminded to be more vigilant in accessing websites that purport to provide certain ‘services’ that are otherwise provided by the Philippine Embassy and to access only the Philippine Embassy’s website for official information, advisories, and transactions,” it explained.
The Embassy said the “Passports for Release” service is published only in its website www.riyadhpe.dfa.gov.ph. KS
