More than 50 distressed OFWs brought home from Kuwait

Over 50 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have been repatriated from Kuwait by the Philippine government and are set to arrive in the country soon, according to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Mao Dela Cruz on Tuesday.

The 54 Filipinos stayed at the Migrant Workers and Other Overseas Filipinos Resource Center before being sent home as part of the repatriation program of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Migrant Workers Office and the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait.

According to the report, the OWWA repatriation team is set to welcome the distressed OFWs and assist them in the immigration documentation and customs  formalities at the airport.

Medical teams are on stand by to assist OFWs seeking medical assistance.

The OWWA meanwhile will assist repatriates to return to their home provinces and will provide financial assistance. —Jamil Santos/KG, GMA Integrated News
