DUBAI: The General Director for Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) will accept only original documents for residence visa starting today, extending the new rule to all typing centers as well.
The new procedures were introduced at the GDRFA’s Dubai centres and headquarters in mid-October, Emirates 24/7 reported.
“GDRFA urges its customers to bring original documents when submitting applications. Photocopies will no longer be accepted,” it reportedly said in an advertisement.
It also asked residents to bring the Emirates Identity card of the sponsor, applicant and the bank account details when submitting the application, the report said.
“It’s important to note that the Emirates ID of the sponsor and applicant, and the International Bank Account Number (IBAN), should be presented when applying.
“GDRFA regrets receiving applications submitted without original documents from said date,” it noted.
Residence can call GDRFA’s toll free number 8005111 for further clarification, the news report by Emirates 24/7 said.
