Pinay Abused by Employer Rescued by PH Consulate

After her video pleading for help went viral on Facebook, a Filipina working overseas in a Middle Eastern country was successfully rescued, the Philippine consulate in her host country.
Anabelle Calay’s recruitment agency, Ortiz Agency and Employment Service told The Filipino Times that the Filipina is now in the custody of the Philippine “embassy”.
“Nasa pangangalaga na siya ng Embassy natin sa doon. Inaasikaso na rin ang kanyang pag-uwi,” the agency said.
Asked about any help that they have extended to successfully rescue the Filipina, the agency refused to comment.
However, The Filipino Times learned that Calay was rescued by the Philippine consulate there from her employer on Monday, August 28, three days after her video message was posted online.
The consulate also confirmed with TFT that the Filipina is now staying at their ward.
Calay secretly recorded a video message asking for help to return to the Philippines after being threatened and harassed by her male employer.
Meanwhile, the consulate did not give further details if the OFW will file a legal complaint against her employer.
