Pinay Beauty Queen Registers as Overseas Voter

MANILA – A beauty queen is the latest Filipino to register as an overseas Filipino voter in Italy.

Rosielyn Damias has been working in Milan as a caregiver and part time babysitter for the past five years.

The 27-year old nursing graduate from the University of Baguio is a native of Rosales, Pangasinan.

Damias continue to hone her career. Next month, she will take up a diploma-course as a dental hygienist and likewise taking Italian classes and reviewing for nursing board exam which she plans to get next year.

Philippine Consul General Marichu Mauro said Damias can be a role model for Filipinos in Italy.

Damias won the title Miss Philippines-Italy 2010 where she impressed the judges with her positive outlook in life.

The Consulate General continues to vigorously encourage the Filipino communities in Milan and Northern Italy to register for the 2016 national elections.

As of November 12, the Consulate General has already registered 5,302 qualified new Filipino voters.
