Pinay Found Guilty of Medicare Fraud

CALIFORNIA – A Filipina nurse in Illinois has been found guilty of Medicare fraud.

Diana Jocelyn Gumila, 46-years old, is facing up to 10 years in federal prison and a mandatory $250,000 fine and restitution after she was found guilty on 21 counts of Medicare fraud and three counts of making false statements pertaining to healthcare.

Gumila reportedly led a scam that defrauded Medicare for two years.

It reportedly involved 4,000 patients and more than $20 million dollars in claims.
