Pinoy on FBI’s Most Wanted List Arrested at US-Mexico Border

A Filipino included on the list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation’s 10 Most Wanted Fugitives was arrested at the US-Mexico border on Sunday, reports said.

report on the LA Times said agents from the US Customs and Border Protection nabbed Philip Patrick Policarpio as he was crossing into the US from Tijuana.

separate report on CBS News said Policarpio, who is wanted for killing his pregnant live-in partner in April, was arrested on US soil at the San Ysidro district of San Diego.

Policarpio is facing first-degree murder for allegedly killing his girlfriend Lauren Elaine Olguin on April 12. The FBI said Policarpio violated his parole in shooting Olguin.

Witnesses saw Policarpio beat Olguin on the head with his fists before shooting her in the forehead with a handgun.

Authorities speculated, based on cellphone records, that Policarpio, who fled to Las Vegas after the shooting, was in the business of selling narcotics.

Citing The Burbank Leader, the LA Times reported that Policarpio  stood trial in 2002 for multiple counts of attempted murder after he shot a woman and a man in 2000.

The Filipino-American was extradited from the Philippines in November 2001 in connection to the incident. Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
