Pinoy Wanted for Murder in Illinois

Police in Illinois are on the hunt for a Filipino man wanted in connection with a December 7 strangulation death in the suburb of Northbrook.

Authorities say 50-year old John Panaligan of Aurora is on the run and is suspected of killing 36-year old Jigar Patel.

Patel was found murdered in an office building in December. Police say a man caught on surveillance video leaving the building is Panaligan.

Police suspect Patel’s murder stemmed from a lawsuit involving Panaligan over a home health care business.

They believe Panaligan is still in the country. There is a $3,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northbrook Police at 847-664-4181.
