Problems Reported in Overseas Absentee Voting in HK
Some OFWs in Hong Kong have complained about problems they encountered in casting their votes on the start of the second week of the month-long overseas absentee voting period.
Most problems concerned about the vote-counting machines, according to a QRT report on Monday.
One OFW said based on the receipt, the machine failed to read her vote for president even though she used the marker provided by the precinct. Her other votes, however, were counted by the machine.
Another OFW, the report said, claimed that based on the receipt printed by the machine, one of the three senators she voted was not counted.
Another OFW claimed he stood in line for hours only to be told by the poll watcher that she could not vote because his name was not on the list even though she registered for the overseas absentee voting in 2015.
Over 6,000 Filipinos in Hong Kong have so far voted since the start of the overseas absentee voting period on April 9, the report said.
