UAE Ends Penalty for Residents Who Renew Expired Emirates ID
DUBAI: Penalties have been waived for applicants who approach Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) to register or renew their expired Emirates ID card online, according to a media report.
However, EIDA will only exempt fines for those who can provide genuine reasons for the delay in registering for or renewing their ID cards, reported Al Khaleej newspaper.
Moreover, the exemption will be available only if they submit their forms online, the report said.
While filling up the form online, the option to apply for exemption will become available after about 10 steps, it said.
Once the form is submitted online, the Authority will decide whether the individual will be exempted from payment of fines or not, said the news portal.
EIDA will send the individual a message informing him or her about acceptance or refusal of the exemption clause, reported Emirates 24/7.
