Forwarders Advise OFWs in UAE Against Sending Prohibited Items to PH

A group of cargo forwarders met with Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes and members of the media, Wednesday, August 24.
UAE: A group of forwarding companies call for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the UAE to be mindful of the items they want to send to their families back home. The reminder is in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season, when most Filipinos send cargo boxes filled with presents and grocery items to their loved ones in the Philippines.

The group has asked an audience from Philippine Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes and members of the local media to raise issues concerning balikbayan boxes and the Philippine Bureau of Customs (BOC). One of the issues is lack of information among OFWs on what items should not be included when sending cargo boxes to the Philippines. The informal meeting has been held at the PCG Dubai, Wednesday, August 24. (HAM)
