American TV Personality, Chef Anthony Bourdain Seeks Filipino Vendors, Food Partners

Filipino food entrepreneurs and presenters will get a chance to rub elbows with American chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdain at the World Street Food Congress this month.

According to WFSC organizers, Bourdain might tap Filipino food vendors to complete his lineup of 100 world food stalls in Bourdain Market, which will open in New York in 2019.

ABS-CBN News reported KF Seetoh, consultant in the Bourdain Market, confirmed that the chef will “talk to potential partners, vendors and sponsors”.

“He wants it to be a cross between Taiwan’s street food market and Singapore’s hawker centers. The fun part is travelling around the world to look for those 100 hawkers. So definitely, some must be from the Philippines,” Seetoh said.

Bourdain will deliver a speech during the event and “will provide the latest update” on the market.

The organizers said he will convene a town hall set up gathering at the event, wherein Dialogue ticket holders can participate.

The 2017 WFSC will take place from May 31 to June 4 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay.
