Riyadh — The Ministry of Commerce and Investments has asked the users of Galaxy Note 7, the basic and substituted models, to stop using it and return it to agents to receive a refund, the ministry announced in a tweet on its official Twitter account.

Saudi Arabia has witnessed some incidents of explosions of Galaxy Note 7.

An Egyptian pharmacist working in the Kingdoms was startled by the explosion of his Samsung mobile phone, and filed a complaint at the Ministry of Commerce.

Mattawa Ali stated that he was surprised by the smoke coming from his bag followed by a frightening explosion. Upon opening the bag, he discovered that the battery of his phone had exploded.

The Ministry of Commerce and Investment also announced recalling 6,186 Galaxy Note 7 devices and issued a directive against its sale in the Kingdom.
Last month, Saudi Arabian Airlines banned its passengers and crew from using the Galaxy Note 7 on its flights.

Last Saturday, the US banned Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphone devices from air transportation under an emergency order. Passengers attempting to transport the devices could be fined or have them confiscated.

Samsung — the world’s largest smartphone maker — announced a global recall of 2.5 million Note 7s on Sept. 2. But the wheels came off the whole recall process as reports emerged of replacement phones also catching fire, prompting a number of major global distributors to halt all sales and exchanges of the device.
