Little Manila to Open in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 15

Dubai, UAE: Considering how the interest in Filipino food is picking up, Little Manila, the UAE’s first Filipino food hub, is opening a branch in Abu Dhabi, its second outlet in the country, on November 14.

Little Manila, owned by Al Ahli Group, is set to welcome many diners as it offers delectable Filipino and Filipino-inspired dishes. It will be the first-ever Filipino food court style restaurant in the capital.

Little Manila is born of the need to satisfy the Filipino expats’ longing for food they have grown up with and have always loved back home.

Since the restaurant opened its flagship outlet in Al Rigga, Dubai, overseas Filipinos from across the UAE have made it a habit to drop by Little Manila to either dine or order for some take away.

The themed restaurant’s popularity has also grown beyond the Filipino market as more and more people from various nationalities are now enjoying the local flavors of the Philippines.

“People are embracing the authentic Philippine cuisine, and the success of Little Manila’s first shop in Al Rigga, Dubai, is proof of that. As the food hub now expands its presence in the country, more and more people will get to enjoy local Filipino flavors. We are confident that everyone’s going to love it,” said Parvez Naqvi, General Manager of Food and Beverage Department at Al Ahli Group.

As it expands its presence in the country through its Abu Dhabi outlet, Little Manila is right on track to capturing a significant share of foodies in the UAE, be they Filipinos or of other nationalities.

The themed restaurant offers an array of food choices from multiple Filipino brands, such as Binalot, Jay-J’s, Fruitas Group, Mochi Crème, Zagu, Fiftea along with its in-house brands Kwekie Bites and Breadshop.

The popular Filipino food chain, Binalot, takes pride in serving classic Filipino comfort food like adobo, tapa, bistek, tocino, longganisa and others – all atop steaming hot rice and garnished with appeatizing siders of salted egg and tomato and wrapped with banana leaves.

Jay-J’s Inasal is not only known for its grilled food but also for its wide variety of Filipino home-style dishes, from seafood, to poultry and even meat.

Built on a concept that integrates a healthy lifestyle, Fruitas House of Desserts has developed an innovative concept that combines refreshing fruit and powder based shake alongside the Filipino-inspired local halo-halo desserts.

Mochi Crème Japanese Ice Cream is a fun finger food dessert made of a sweet, sticky Japanese rice cake confection with a soft donut-like shell called ‘Mochi’ and ice cream filling, a perfect enjoyable snack that is both indulgent and satisfying.

Zagu, the ice blended drink, served with dark, round chewy tapioca balls, which rose to a roaring instant success in the Philippines in 1999. Today, Zago has blended more than million pearl shakes since its inception.

Fiftea aspires to be the world leader in the concept of the teahouse revival, revitalizing tea as the healthy alternative to coffee. The ‘50’ in the brand name represents the number of steps involved in serving the deliciously healthy cup of milk tea, starting from the tea leaves to the final brew of good milk tea.

Popular in the street food scene in the Philippines, Kwekie Bites offers a wide array of on-the-go snacks including Fish Balls, Hotdogs and the renowned Kwek-Kwek. Served with savory dips, Kwekie Bites is all you need to satisfy that appetite.

A home grown Filipino bakery concept, Bread Shop brings all the elements of rich and aromatic baking delights for cake and bread lovers, that are made from high quality ingredients, blended with passion, baked with perfection and topped with love.

From appetizers, main course meals, to desserts, beverages and street food, Little Manila gives its customers that distinct Filipino taste and feel at affordable prices.

The restaurant boasts a dining experience that makes Filipinos feel at home, with its Philippine-inspired interiors to the service it provides. “Atin Ito,” a Pinoy catch phrase that means “This is ours,” has become Little Manila’s mantra.
