Three Filipino Inmates Convert to Islam, Hail Religion

SHARJAH: Three Filipinos declared their conversion to Islam at the Sharjah Reformatory and Punitive Establishment (SRPE).

The new Muslims expressed happiness about their new religion.

The trio said that for a long time, they had been contemplating joining Islam “because we admired the good morals of Muslims as well as the humane treatment by the officials at SRPE.’

A top official at SRPE said the punitive unit works towards encouraging its non-Muslim inmates to embrace Islam through their integration and assistance during religious lectures aimed at spreading the faith among the inmates in cooperation with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.

The religious awareness initiative aims at strengthening the inmates’ relationship with their God through lectures delivered by elite preachers.
